Our Youth group members, ages 8 to 12 years old, made 45 lbs of chocolate into
lollipops and bagged candy, and sold them at our annual Chinese New Year
Celebration.  In addition they sold t-shirts with our logo on it to raise this money.
They were given a few choices as to where the money should be sent and they
decided on sending the funds to Half the Sky.  After careful consideration they
collectively decided to sponsor a child in the Little Sister preschool program.
FCC-LI made the following charitable contributions in as a result of our fundraising
efforts for Chinese New Year 2007:

$1,370.00 for Medical -Meningocele surgery
$  288.00 for Nutrition - Two cases of Cleft bottles
$  600.00 for Foster Care - in Kaifeng through Love without Boundaries

Lily – born March 2007         Andrew – born January 2007

May 2010
Good evening,
I am writing with an update on little Emily.  I am very sad to say that the doctors were not able to fix
her heart problem completely.  They worked for almost 8 hours during her last surgery trying to
repair the VSD with the heart catheter but her heart defect was more serious than they thought.
The only other option for her right now is a very risky open heart surgery, but there are no
garuntees that she would survive another surgery or that the problem would be fixed. We are
currently looking into several options for her and hope to come up with a plan to help heal her
heart.  Please continue to keep this sweet little girl
in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you,
Danica Reed

April 2010

Our chapter made two donations from this year's  LNY raffle.  Love Without
Boundaries was given $330.00 for their emergency medical fund, and Greater NY,
the same, for the education fund (that money will make it possible for 3 children to
go to schools in their communities for a year).
