                     We are marching in the parade as a group.
                     Parade begins at 11:00 AM, we will meet to line up at 9:30 AM
                     Performances will follow at the Flushing Mall beginning at 1:00 PM

February 9th - Flushing Lunar New Year Parade -    Man-Li will provide additional details as they become
available.  We expect to be meeting to line up at about 9:30 am.  Plan on getting to Flushing to park, and allow
time to walk to our meeting place by 9:30 am.  The parade is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.

After the parade, festivities will continue indoors at the Flushing Mall, where we will be performing. (Time &
Place to be announced.)


February 23rd - Wear Your RED!!!
FCC-LI CHINESE SCHOOL CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR -
NO REGULAR CLASSES

Time:   To be announced (probably late afternoon into the evening)
Place:  First United Methodist Church, Amityville (Directions Below)
RSVP: No later than February 16th please
Cost:   $5 per adult, preferably paid in advance, Children N/C

Please set aside time to join us for this very special occasion.  You are welcome to invite family and friends to
join you.  

We will collect $5 per adult to cover food supplies, and ask everyone to bring something to help out. (A sign up
list will be posted in class on January 26th and on Feb 2nd).  

Traditionally we make dumplings together, share in a Chinese Fire Pot and other symbolic foods.  There will be
crafts for the kids, music and dancing, games and lots of fun for everyone.  Families are also asked to bring
Red Envelopes to be given to each of the children - (2 quarters in each.)  If you need to purchase red
envelopes from us please let us know in advance so we have enough.

Also remember to bring your ribbons, fans etc.

March 9th -   FCC-Long Island Chapter
                     CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR
                     Charles B. Wang Center, SUNY Stony Brook
                 
Our school will be performing at this event (tentatively from 2:00 - 2:30).  We will also be setting up a booth in
the marketplace where we will sell "Lucky Bamboo".  Please help our fundraising efforts and volunteer a 1/2
hour of your time staffing the booth.  (We will CLOSE the booth during our performance).

We will also need a few volunteers to help set up and break everything down at the end of the day.  A sign up
sheet will be available at our Chinese New Year celebration on February 23rd.
