Dear Beth:
We are offering a wonderful new program here at Alfred University this summer.  It is our
Confucius Institute Chinese Language and Culture Camp and I thought it might be of interest
to families who have adopted Chinese children.

This is a week-long residential program for children aged 12-17 that provides sessions in
Chinese language and culture in a fun-filled, interactive environment. Morning classes will
focus on Chinese language instruction, while afternoons will be filled with hands-on cultural
activities such as traditional Chinese arts, crafts, calligraphy, songs, dance, games, cooking,
and more. After class, students will enjoy recreational activities on and off campus. The
program will take place July 11-16.

Our beautiful campus is located in a safe, peaceful village in western New York State,
surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful meadows and valleys.

I am hopeful that you will be kind enough to share this information with interested students
and their parents. All of the details, including the application form, are available on our
website at www.alfred.edu/summer/camps/chinese.cfm. I would be happy to send you a
quantity of program brochures, if that would be helpful.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. If you have any questions, or require additional
information, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Melody
